Look at this huge 3 bedroomed house, virtually on the beach, in Isla Plana, Cartagena. The villa is in a secluded area with a wild natural beach almost on the doorstep – this beach and the rocks and cliffs offer fantastic snorkelling and diving experiences, with hidden caves and coves all within a few meters, and of course it´s a great place to launch the kayak or windsurfer. My surfing friends tell me it´s one of the very few left handed wave beaches in this area, and this beach in particular is probably the best.
The villa is inside a gated community, with no through traffic so it´s very quiet – you can hear the surf in almost every room. The sunken lounge is perfect for just relaxing and listening to the surf, whilst the sun streams through the stained glass windows. From the lounge we can go through to the enormous kitchen, past the ground floor toilet, and out to the private courtyard and utility area. This courtyard also offers a door to the communal gardens on the other side of the whitewashed walls.
Upstairs, we have three double bedrooms with one family bathroom, and the main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and wonderful terrace overlooking the sea. Back on the ground floor, there is a large patio at the front of the house for outside dining and relaxing, with a double garage below at street level. That´s not all. Just a few meters walk along the road takes you to the communal pool and tennis courts. The pool is utterly marvellous, with a waterfall feature, and lots of shady areas to sit in and upload your photos to social media.
Did I mention the villa has wifi? Did I mention the villa has air conditioning throughout? And, when you´ve had enough swimming, snorkelling, and exploring, the village of Isla Plana is just a kilometer down the road, with a whole range of shops, bars and restaurants. It´s just the perfect place to relax, recharge, and rewind.
